00/009 QUARRY LAYOUT
This is a dual gauge (00/009) quarry layout based on fiddle year to quarry workings for both the 00 track and 009. The 00 is the lower level and 009 on the upper level, which as you can see from the picture, has yet to be built.
The concept is the quarry is supplied by the narrow gauge railway and the standard gauge wagons are loaded via the hopper. This allows for plenty of shunting, both on standard and narrow gauge tracks.
The runaround for the standard gauge is under the road bridge.
This is an old layout that has been saved from the 'skip' and is about to be given a new lease of life. In a previous life, it represented a preserved railway and promoted the latest Hornby locomotives at one of Dapol's Railway Daze, when they were based at Lower Dee Mill, Llangollen.
